OUR NAME

     In my last few months in prison, I thought and prayed much about a way to stay connected with the men I served time with and their families. As I contemplated how to present the mission and purpose of our ministry to others, I thought of this:

       Jesus said, “[When] I was in prison you visited Me; as you have done it unto one of the Least of These my brothers, you have done it unto Me” (Matt. 25:34-40).

I realized that as I reached out to my brothers still inside — “the least of these” — it would be as if I were reaching out to Jesus. However, referring to “them” as “the least of these” did not sit well with me. I was one of them!  I sat where they sit. I ate where they eat. I walked where they walk. I suffered where they suffer. I did not like referring to them as “the least of these” without realizing that I, TOO, AM ONE OF “THE LEAST OF THESE”!

     In the last two messages I preached in prison, I said to these precious men: “You will never be forgotten. Your families will never be forgotten. I will reach out to you as the Lord allows. And when I do, it will definitely be

            FROM: The Least of These

            TO: The Least of These

     Then, it seemed the Lord spoke to my heart:  The Least Of These = LOT. I was reminded of 2Peter 2:7, “and [God] delivered … just Lot” (KJV) speaking about Abraham’s nephew, Lot. (The word “just” here means “righteous; as in justified.)

I knew where God was going with this, and I told the guys: “When you receive anything from justLOT Ministries, it will be From ‘Just One of the Least of These’ To ‘Just One of the Least of These. “justLOT Ministries!”
